Summer is in the air! - 06-Jun-2008
Well, summer is finally here thank goodness! We have recently been down to Perranporth in cornwall, it was so lovely to spend the days on the beach plashing in the sea making sandcastles with the kids. All hands back on deck now though, as the wedding and Christening season is well under way. If you have a baby girl, check out our gorgeous range of designer hats and shoes from the states - they are so pretty and unusual, perfect for parties and celebrations.

Happy New Year! - 08-Jan-2008
Firstly & most importantly, Happy New Year to everyone! Christmas has been a busy and exciting time here at Pickle & Boo towers, both business wise & family wise with our boys. Santa certainly paid a visit to our house, we are still trying to find places for the new influx of toys - why are boys toys so BIG?! We had a really enjoyable Christmas break, and we are now looking ahead to the new year with excitement. Pickle & Boo has been up and running for exactly six months tomorrow - happy half birthday P&B! It's going from strength to strength, and we have been really pleased to have been picked up by the national baby mags already. Did I mention that we have been awarded Mother & Baby magazine 'Website of the month' for January 2008?? Did I?! Oh my gosh, I almost danced around the room when I saw that, it was a real proud mummy moment ( Pickle & Boo certainly feels like my third baby, and it's better behaved than the other two aswell!). Thank you M & B!

Pickle & Boo in the news! - 24-Nov-2007
Well, we have a few snippets of news on the press front to report. Firstly, we are excited about the fact that the Express and Star are going to run a feature on Pickle & Boo. They came to shoot some photographs earlier this week, which was kind of exciting for the boys! Alex cried at the camera flash, but Eddie switched on the charm and performed like a teeny model - no great surprise I suppose, he's pretty used to the camera as I am forever taking his photo. We are looking forward to seeing the piece in the paper soon.

Gearing up for Christmas... - 01-Oct-2007
We've just received a delivery from Steiff of some great new rattles to co-ordinate with our existing Benny bear and Lenchen lamb baby ranges - I'll pop them on to the site over the next couple of days. We also have a brand new character called Gretchen, an adorable baby giraffe rattle. We should be getting the larger sized Gretchen soft toy soon too, hopefully in time for Christmas. All of the steiff baby range is lovely, and I always feel that giving a gift from them feels really special.

Welcome to Pickle & Boo, the site for unusual and fun gifts for babies and mummies! We opened at the beginning of July 2007, and it's been an exciting and hectic time, to say the least. Lots of time and effort has been put into sourcing some really special and beautiful items from all around the world - merino wool baby snuggles suits from Nurtured by Nature in New Zealand, gorgeous hand knitted baby shoes, blankets and toys from BlaBla in America, and wonderful pregnancy journals from Tummy-Talk in the US to name just a few of our star products. We are thrilled with the range we have put together, and hope that you'll enjoy shopping with us.

If you are looking around for unusual gift inspiration for Christenings or birthdays, we have just added some really funky traditional style knitted toys to our range that fit the bill perfectly. I always think that it's nice to choose something a little bit different, and these are such wonderful quality and design that they can be played with by babies and kept afterwards as keepsakes. They come in a wide choice of design, from sweet dolls and mermaids right through to uber cool modern creatures like Mr.X and Inoo-lala...you really need to check them out to see them properly!

They are definately THE changing bag to be seen with this year, so much so that there have been waiting lists for them...I kid you not! Available in four shades of buttery soft leather with pretty contrasting print linings, they are lovely to look at and super practical for carrying around all of the necessary kit that a baby entails. All I can say is if you are thinking of buying one, get in fast! Supplies are limited and we aren't sure when we will be able to get our mitts on more for you.

We have just added some lovely new spring time stock in store! Check out the sweetest little crocheted shoes ever over on our Hats & Shoes page, available in a choice of three fab shades!
We also have a funky new changing bag just in, the 'Bambi' Bag from Disaster Designs. It's a combo of hardwearing denim and pretty wipeclean fabric, making it both preactical and stylish. We think it's a bit of a winner!
We are excited to be expecting a new delivery of Tummy_talk journals over the coming week, which fingers crossed will include their brand new 'Silver-Spoon' shade. It looks divine, and being another great neutral shade we are sure it's going to be another well loved addition to our store.
We are very pleased to report that all of the site enhancements are now completed - phew! You can now choose an alternative postal address for your order when you checkout, and you can also let us know if you'd like us to include a gift card for you. It's simple and speedy, we are really pleased to have this simplified system now in place.
We'd like to say a special Hello and Welcome to all of our overseas visitors! We are thrilled to have so many people from around the globe visiting Pickle & Boo. If you have family back home in the UK, we would be especially pleased to help you to send them gifts from P&B. Spring is in the air here at Pickle & Boo, it's great to finally see a little bit of sunshine and the early flowers starting to come through after the months of grey rain isn't it! We have some exciting new stock just in, including some super sweet little knitted merino / alpaca t-bar shoes in sorbet shades, ideal for special occasions in the summer. They'll be arriving on our web site any day now, so watch this space! We also have some fabulously unusual hat and boootie sets from New York in our hats and shoes dept, guaranteed to set your little girl apart from the crowd at Christenings and Weddings!
We are also awaiting a consignment of the wonderful Tummy-Talk pregnancy journals from the USA, they are really special books and we have had lots of feedback about them from happy customers. We can't keep them on the shelves at the moment! New stock arriving soon of all of four colour ways.
Our web site is currently undergoing a couple of updates, mainly to enhance the shopping cart. You will now be able to input an alternative delivery address and gift message details directly at the check out, making buying a gift simplicity itself. Just choose your items, pop the details in, and we will do the rest. You can rely on us to gift box your purchases and send them out within 24 hours by recorded delivery - much easier than tackling the high street, and there's something special about having a surprise gift delivered to your door isn't there?

We are proud to report that we have recently launched our Pickle & Boo store on Amazon - you can find us under the new Baby section on www.amazon.co.uk. This is a great affiliation for us as it help spread the P&B word - watch out, we're coming!
So, onwards into 2008. We have plans to add some lovely new lines to our ranges over the next few months, and we are looking ahead to spring and summer to find you all some fantastic gift ideas. Here at Pickle & Boo towers, we are thrilled to have been chosen as the Mother & Baby magazine 'website of the month' for January 2008!
They have commented especially on our exclusive range of Pickle & Boo breastfeeding bracelets, and our slant towards the more unusual when it comes to gifts for mums & babies. Our gorgeous 1920's steiff bear is going to be making a special appearance too in the February issue, and then our breastfeeding bracelets are to be showcased in the Pregnancy & Birth magazine in March 2008 - it' a busy and exciting time here at the moment!
I'm also thrilled to report that our products will hopefully be featured in the leading parenthood mags in the new year - 'Mother & Baby' in February and 'Pregnancy & Birth' in March. I am especially pleased that they will hopefully be featuring our exclusive breastfeeding bracelets, as we are so proud of them and have had great feedback from happy mums who are using them. I know myself how easy it is to lose track when you are breasfeeding, you can get so tired out when your baby is very young and demanding feeds every couple of hours. Sometimes I could barely remember my own name, let alone which side to feed Alex from next. I used an old hairband around my wrist to remind me, but I would have definately preferred something a bit more presentable & glamorous!
It is a generally busy time for us here at Pickle & Boo towers, both on the internet and out and about. We had a great time at Shugborough gift fair last weekend, and met some fantastic people. It was our first show, so nerve wracking in that we had no idea what to expect. The weather was a bit of a downer, it was torrential rain and freezing cold, not great in a marquee! Still, the crowds turned out regardless, and it was nice for us to be able to show off our products face to face. We loved it, and can't wait for the next big one at Himley on 8th and 9th December.
This week we are going to be at RAC Bescot on Thursday, and then at Compton Christmas Sale on Saturday morning.
